MetaTrader

Hi,

I have been looking for a data manager that could use both OpenTick and MetaTrader data feeds, so your software looks very interesting. My question is in regards to MetaTrader. I see that currencies and gold/silver are the only symbols listed on the datafeed page for them. Is this due to the feed coming directly from MetaQuotes? Is it possible to get other MT data that is available from various MT brokers? For example, I use the WHC version of MT4 (http://www.whcforex.com/mt4/) and they offer many futures and stocks as well as the standard forex quotes. Would these quotes be accessible as well?

Thanks

Hi WarEagle,

at the moment in MtiQS the originally MT platform is implemented.

I'll take a look at the WHC Trader 4.o platform asap, but I think that's no problem to use all the instruments from this platform. I'll open a demo account on WHC and make all required tests and, if needed, required changes on MtiQS.

I think I can give an answer tomorrow or on Tuesday.

Best regards

Hi WarEagle,

the required changes in MtiQS are done. Now it is possible to use all symbols from WHC / MT4 platform. Please use the symbols like shown in the platform symbol window, for example for E-Mini S&P 500 the symbol 'ES'.

Please make sure that you have enabled in MT platform the DDE functionality. Go to Extras->Options->Server and set the related checkbox to true.

If you have already installed MtiQS go to 'http://www.mtiqs.com/update/Update.zip' and download the zip-archive. Unpack the archive (contains MtiQS.exe and MtiQS.map) into the installation directory of Mtiqs and overwrite both old files.

I hope thats helpful for you.

Best regards

That is great! I think having access to so many symbols will help attract users to your product.

Thanks again!

PS I hope you are able to get Wave59 to work with MQS as you posted on their forums. Many people have asked them for an MT4 feed but there never seems to be any response, good or bad.

I'am still waiting on Eariks action to integrate the MtiQS COM-interface into Wave59.

I thought it can be an option to populate the tool so that more interested people can ask for it on Wave59 site. ;)

For the current version of Wave59 a workaround is available. With this temporary solution it is possible to send quotes from MtiQS into Wave59 with text files and auto update Wave59. More details are available in the online help of MtiQS.

Also the trading plattform of ODL-securities (http://www.odlsecurities.com) based on MT4 is able to connect to MtiQS.
